No matter where you hunt...someone hit it first...by now. So don't get discouraged if silver is short in supply. now let me say this honestly. In 20 years of detecting I have dug LESS THAN 50 silver coins. Now i made up for that with some sweat silver bust dimes and reales...but there is just not alot of silver coins around here. Now old Copper coins from the 1700's i have jars of.....that is just what is around....and i love it...but I like silver more. I would guess most of what you hunt was hunted hard years ago and alot of the shallow silver was taken and what you are diggin is clad that has been lost since....I am guessing. People have been hard core detecting for years...decades even and most anywhere we think of has been thunk of before. So Semper Fi...it will come....unfortunately part of the trick is to go after deeper silver missed by the older detectors and..well..the Deleon is not it...Tesoro is not hot on silver...it is hotter on gold. Actually a Whites IDX Pro is pretty darn deep on silver....deeper than a Deleon....and the coil you mentioned is not good for deep coins ...it is best suited for broad scanning for clad and jewelry....unless that is your goal anyway.
